This position is responsible for all daily shift production and proper transfer of product to ensure efficient and profitable production output and on-time delivery of quality parts to the customer.
Responsible for all production operations including quality of packaged product, transfers, movement of product and labeling
Responsible for completing multiple daily rounds of entire plant to confirm alignment of safety, regulatory, housekeeping, process performance and behavior expectations. Maintain quality levels by ensuring quality checks are performed regularly
Responsible for scale-sample set training and follow through
Monitor and control scrap; implement scrap reduction activities
Work closely with other Shift Supervisors to ensure production handovers are effective
Responsible for training, developing, motivating, evaluating, disciplining, and supervising assigned staff.
Provide leadership and guidance on the production floor to ensure the highest level of quality performance is achieved.
Maintain accuracy of production process documentation including scrap reporting documents and box count information.
Manage operator assignments including breaks and lunches.
Track temporary operator’s work hours.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
Create a work environment that supports open employee communication, upbeat morale, and professional growth.
Conduct performance appraisals for team members
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Effectively work with safety and quality teams to proactively identify issues.
Must be able to work overtime including extended days and/or weekends.
Perform other duties as assigned
A minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proficient in MS Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
ERP experience desired; IQMS experience a plus
Must be able to work in a fast pace environment while maintaining quality and safety standards
Understanding of 5S Principles a plus
Proven ability to direct and train colleagues
Effective interpersonal skills necessary.
Must have strong leadership skills
Strong Quality background a plus
Ability to delegate effectively
Strong organizational and problem solving skills
Ability to clearly communicate with colleagues in written and verbal form
Experience with Manufacturing Process Flow
Minimal Lifting, normally up to 50lbs; Stand up to eight (8) hours per day
